To understand the basics of dental insurance policies, there are a few words that you'll want to learn because you'll hear them time and time again:
It's important to remember that your plan likely restarts at the beginning of every year, on January 1<sup>st</sup>. In order to maximize your benefits, you'll want to receive any treatments you need while your deductible is paid and before you hit your maximum.

Dental insurance is focused more on preventive care than the treatment of severe oral health issues. This shows in the fact that they typically cover 100 percent of the cost of routine checkups and cleanings, 80 percent of the cost of basic treatments, and 50 percent of the cost of more invasive procedures. To learn whether your plan will cover a specific treatment, it's best to contact them directly.

Our financial coordinators are highly skilled at navigating insurance policies and helping patients get the most out of their coverage. We're proud to be in-network with most major PPO insurance plans, and we file claims for out-of-network patients as well.

We can file claims for treatments that are deemed medically necessary, and this can help someone meet their deductible while also reducing their out-of-pocket cost.
