Why do I need a bone graft before getting dental implants?
If you’ve been missing teeth for awhile or have had a traditional restoration that just restores the visible portion of your teeth, you may require a bone graft before being able to undergo dental implant placement. This is because the roots of your teeth are no longer there to stimulate the bone and provide it with necessary blood flow to keep it dense, causing it to erode.
